Contains five Leclerc Tanks.

The outbreak of war has seen the new Leclerc rushed to units refitting to return to the front. The crews have become familiar with the new French main battle tank after short, but intensive training with their new weapon system.

The Leclerc is a departure from the common theme of NATO tanks, being fitted with an autoloader and a longer-barreled 120mm gun. The autoloader is a more advanced design than those seen in Soviet tanks allowing particular round types to be selected quickly and not impeding the gun’s rate-of-fire. The 120mm smoothbore gun can fire all the standard NATO 120mm ammunition types, with its longer barrel pushing rounds out at a higher muzzle velocity and increasing its effectiveness and range.

Contains four VAB T20 Transports.

The 20mm autocannon armed VAB T20 Section d’Appui-feu, or Fire Support Section, provides additional firepower and anti-helicop-ter cover for the infantry. The VAB T20 mounts the 20mm cannon on a rotating turret for all-round fire support.

Contains five Grizzly Transports and one Commander sprue

The Grizzly was used as an armoured personnel carrier in regular force infantry battalions not equipped with the M113 APC, and also by reserve units. The Grizzly APC had a three-man crew and could carry a section of infantry. It mounted a turret armed with a .50 cal MG and a 7.62mm machine-gun.

3x ikv 91, Infanterikanonvagn

The Infanterikanonvagn 91 (infantry cannon wagon 91, Ikv 91) is a high-mobility assault gun developed for the Swedish army. Its design employs common components with the Pbv 302 APC series. The 91 in the name designates the calibre of its gun (9cm) and that it is the first vehicle of its type in service. The Ikv 91 was assigned to the Swedish infantry brigade and the 10th Mechanised Brigade.

Includes five plastic Leopard 2A5 Tanks and five Unit Cards.

Initially known as Leopard 2 Improved, but later designated Leopard 2A5, the new model introduced wedge-shaped, spaced add-on armour to the turret front and the frontal area of the hull sides. The new spaced armour modules are designed to defeat the jet of a hollow charge or high-explosive anti-tank round prior to it reaching the base armour.

Contains one G3 rifle team, four MG3 teams with M72 LAW anti-tank, three Carl Gustav anti-tank teams, three Eryx anti-tank missile teams, six medium bases and seven small bases.

Contains five M113 APCs or M125 Mortars, three M150 TOW Gunners, three Blowpipe Gunners and four Mortar Crew.

The M113's versatility spawned a wide variety of adaptations that live on worldwide and in U.S. service. These variants together currently represent about half of U.S. Army armoured vehicles. To date, it is estimated that over 80,000 vehicles in the M113 family have been produced and used by over 50 countries worldwide, making it one of the most widely used armoured fighting vehicles of all time.

Not only are there detailed backgrounds on the various NATO armies, but updated profiles and new formations for players to build and play with, including new kits and unit card packs. The book contains new scenarios to try out too.

Since its inception in 1949, NATO has been a community of free nations brought together with a common goal, to defend the freedom of Western Europe and North America. To do this Canada, France, Netherlands, and Belgium deploy armoured and mechanised forces in West Germany. Old allies have also been called on, and an ANZAC Brigade of Australian and New Zealand troops have answered the call to fight.

Canada, Netherlands, Belgium, and Australia all have 105mm armed Leopard 1 tanks, while Canada, Belgium, and the ANZACs have M113 mechanised infantry. Both Canada and Australia are also trialling new heavy tanks, the Leopard 2 for Canada and the M1A1 Abrams for the Australians. France has its own 105mm armed AMX-30 and new 120mm armed Leclerc tanks, while infantry travel in AMX-10P IFVs or 4x4 VAB APCs. The Dutch also have new Leopard 2 tanks and mount their infantry in YPR-765 IFVs and the Belgians also have the similar AIFV-B-C25 IFV.

Recon options include the Canadian Lynx and Dutch M113 C&V tracked vehicles, Belgium Scimitars and Scorpions, and the heavily armed French AMX-10 RC armoured car and lighter VBLs. Among the many support choices there are Canadian, Dutch, and Belgian M109 artillery, French rapid-fire AMX AuF1 SP 155mm howitzers, Canadian ADATS, French Roland and Mephisto, and Dutch PRAT missile vehicles.

The NM135 stormpanservogn is rebuilt on the M113 chassis, modified to add a turret on the right side. The turret is armed with a 20mm Rheinmetall autocannon. The NM135 carried an anti-tank group, a machine-gun group, the deputy section leader, and the reserve vehicle commander — who took over when the section commander dismounted from the vehicle commander’s position.

A Luftvernbatteri (air defence battery) of the Light Air Defence Artillery (LLA) of Brigade Nord is equipped with the Swedish Robot 70 system (RBS-70), which works with the separate Giraffe search radar system situated behind the front lines. The RBS-70 missile launchers are mounted on the NM195 air defence vehicle (a modified M113 APC).

Contains four NM142 Tank-hunters.

NM142 is a Norwegian missile tank-hunter vehicle (Rakettpanserjager) based on the M113 APC. The NM142 mounts a turret containing a TOW guided anti-tank missile system, with one launch tube on each side of the turret in a concept broadly similar to the US M901. This TOW turret was developed in Norway by the Kværner Eureka engineering company.

The commander’s hatch mounts an MG3 machine-gun as a secondary armament. The NM142 has a crew of four, a commander, a gunner, loader, and driver.

World War III: Nordic Forces introduces Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, and Danish forces to World War III: Team Yankee, as Soviet forces attack into Scandinavia

The Swedes are mostly self-sufficient for their military technology with the unique S-tank, a low profile design combining survivability and a powerful 105mm gun. Their well armed infantry are mounted in the Pbv 302 APC armed with a 20mm autocannon. Supplementing their locally manufactured equipment the Swedes also field the Centurion tank, but even this has been extensively upgraded with improved fire-control systems and Explosive Reactive Armour. The Swedes also have integrated Finnish support as the Soviets attack through Lapland.

The Finnish armoured forces field T-72FM1, T-72FM2, and T-55M, Soviet tanks with local improvements and newer western technology applied. Their Jääkäri infantry are mounted in BMPs and BTR60s with a good mix of fire support weapons such a missiles, recoilless rifles, and mortars. The Finnish also have integral Swedish support, which can provide much needed air-support.

The Norwegians have more conventional equipment, fielding Leopard 1 tanks in their armoured forces and M113 APCs for their mechanised infantry. They also field their own unique M113 tank-hunter variant, the NM142, armed with TOW missiles. American M60 tanks, infantry, and attack helicopters, can also be taken as support options.

The Danes field both Leopard 1 and Centurions tanks in their armoured forces, as well older Centurions armed with 20 pdr guns in support. The rest of their forces use conventional vehicles like M113 transports, M106 & M125 Mortars, ans M109 self-propelled howitzers. The Danes can call on integrated West German allied support and have access to West German Leopard 2 tanks, Panzergrenadiers, Roland and Gepard Anti-aircraft, PAH anti-tank helicopters.
